Providing Support + Connection
Abby's Hope Project is a nonprofit organization that provides support to individuals, children and families who are living with and affected by chronic illnesses. AHP were founded by Abby Jenkins when she was just 14 years old. Abby has been living with chronic illnesses since 2018 and wanted to create a difference for others with health challenges. She envisioned this project as a source of hope, strength and joy for others living with chronic illnesses and to provide both emotional support and connection.
THE STORY BEHIND ABBY'S HOPE PROJECT
As a kid, Abby was a gymnast for 10 years, a horseback rider, avid reader, and a lover of school and traveling. Then at 13, she fell severely ill with multiple chronic neurological illnesses. Since 2018, Abby has been living with functional neurological disorder (FND), Lyme disease, Dysautonomia, and PANDAS/PANS. Living with chronic illnesses as a teen is an incredibly isolating experience and out of her mission to empower and support other's who are also facing health challenges, Abby's Hope Project was born in 2019 when Abby was just 14 years old. It is her dream to be able to encourage and inspire those who are living with chronic illnesses to live a life that they are proud of, without letting their suffering take away from their value and the quality of what they are capable of.
The specific purpose of Abby's Hope Project is to provide wholehearted help and support for children, teens, young adults with chronic illnesses, as well as their families with the intent of providing hope for better tomorrows. We aim to accomplish this by raising awareness for chronic illnesses and providing emotional support.
